Privacy Policy

Nefer is operated by GoodRoots Ventures LLC, a California limited liability company (“Nefer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Nefer mobile application or visit nefer.life.

By using Nefer, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Who Nefer Is For

Nefer is designed for users aged 13 and older. It is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

Nefer is marketed to adults who identify with ADHD, but Nefer does not ask for, collect, or store any medical diagnosis, health condition, or treatment information. Nefer is a habit tracking tool, not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

2. Information We Collect

A. Account Information

  • Email address
  • Firebase authentication identifier
  • Optional display name

You can create an account using your email address, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In. When you use Apple or Google, we receive your email address (or Apple’s private relay address if you choose to hide your email) and an authentication identifier from that provider.

B. User Content

  • Habits you create, including their names, schedules, colors, and reminder times
  • Your check-off history (which habits you completed and when)
  • Text or voice input you provide during onboarding to describe your routine

Important:

  • Habit names are chosen by you. If you choose habit names that reveal sensitive information (for example, medication routines), that content is stored with your account like any other habit.
  • Voice input during onboarding is processed transiently to convert it into habits. Recordings and transcripts are discarded after processing and are not permanently stored.
  • Your habit and check-off data is also cached on your device to support offline use.

C. Subscription Information

  • Subscription status
  • Entitlement data
  • Purchase metadata (via Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat)

We do not collect or store credit card information.

D. Technical & Analytics Data

  • App usage data and feature interactions
  • Device type and operating system
  • Crash logs and performance diagnostics

Collected using:

  • Firebase (Google Cloud)
  • Mixpanel (analytics)
  • RevenueCat (subscription infrastructure)

E. Advertising & Attribution Data

We use the Meta SDK solely to measure app installs. This may share the fact that the app was installed, along with device-level identifiers where permitted by your device settings, with Meta Platforms, Inc. We do not share your habits, check-off history, onboarding input, subscription activity, or in-app behavior with Meta. All product analytics are handled separately through Mixpanel as described above.

On iOS, this sharing respects your App Tracking Transparency choice. You can also limit ad tracking in your device settings at any time.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide habit tracking, scheduling, reminders, and progress history
  • Turn your onboarding input into a suggested routine using AI
  • Generate your weekly summary and insights
  • Enforce free-tier limits
  • Manage subscriptions and Pro access
  • Improve app functionality and performance
  • Detect abuse or misuse of the platform
  • Respond to support inquiries

We do not sell your personal data. As described in Section 2E, limited install-measurement data is shared with Meta; where applicable law (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act) treats this as “sharing,” you may opt out as described in Section 8.

4. AI Processing

Nefer uses third-party AI services to convert your onboarding input into a routine and to generate weekly insights from your check-off patterns.

  • Your input is processed to produce these features and is not used to train public AI models.
  • AI-generated routines and insights are produced automatically and may contain inaccuracies or reflect the limitations of current AI systems.

Nefer’s insights are reflective observations about your own tracked data. They are not medical, psychological, or professional advice.

5. Notifications

If you enable reminders, Nefer schedules notifications on your device. You can disable notifications at any time in the app or in your device settings.

6. Data Storage & International Transfers

Data is stored and processed using secure cloud providers, primarily in the United States. By using Nefer, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. If you are located in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, or other regions with data transfer requirements, transfers are made subject to appropriate safeguards.

7. Data Retention

We retain:

  • Account data for as long as your account remains active
  • Your habits and check-off history until you delete them or your account
  • Limited technical logs as required for security and compliance

You may delete:

Deleting your account permanently removes associated stored content, subject to reasonable backup retention periods. If your subscription lapses, your existing habits remain stored and accessible under the free tier unless you delete them.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Correct inaccuracies
  • Request deletion
  • Object to certain processing
  • Opt out of the “sharing” of personal information for cross-context advertising (California residents)

To exercise these rights, contact: info@nefer.life

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your data. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will always be available at nefer.life/privacy.

Continued use of Nefer after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
